Employment

Roma people are unemployed. There is no statistical data about how high is unemployment rate but estimation is that the 60 % of Roma population is working on the gray market at most unwanted positions (collecting second hand materials, physical workers at the construction yards,…) also most of Roma woman are staying the house taking care of the family or working on the daily basis for a certain amount of money.

The ware state programs that are support Roma in order to find the employment and/or to become self employed. A challenge of the self employment program was that Roma people could not provide sources for morgues, so small percentage of Roma applied for this support. Also a NGO’s are organizing vocational training for Roma people in order to become more competitive on the labor market.
